Welcome to Crafty Dee’s Brewing Company - a dream turned reality, and 7x African Beer Cup Award winner. What began in 2016 as a small home-brew experiment, in a Dar es Salaam spare room, with no prior brewing experience, has evolved into one of East Africa’s most inspiring craft beer stories.
Crafty Dee’s was born from a bold ambition: to challenge the norm, celebrate originality, and introduce a new wave of brewing innovation. Guided by curiosity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to quality, every step of the journey has been about creating something truly meaningful - and distinctly different.
Rooted in Dar es Salaam, where the Patel family has lived for over a century, Crafty Dee’s, is more than a brewery. It’s a legacy in the making - a fusion of tradition and modernity, of global inspiration and local pride.

Our Story
Our journey started in a small room at the back of our founder’s home, fueled by curiosity and a love for great beer. Through dedication, experimentation, and a relentless pursuit of quality, Crafty Dee’s evolved into a fully operational microbrewery and brewpub. Today, our 130-seater brewpub in Masaki offers a unique experience where guests can enjoy freshly brewed beer while watching the brewing process through large panoramic windows—connecting every sip to the craft behind it.
